Google Apps will soon encrypt

On July 9, Google announced that it had signed a final agreement to acquire Postini, a global leader in anti-spam, data protection, and message encryption. As a result of this transaction, which will cost Google $ 625 million, the company will be able to bring the well-known services included in the Google Apps package to a completely new level of security.



Today, Google Apps products are already used by a huge number of small businesses and private users. At the same time, many large enterprises are in no hurry to switch to Google Apps due to security issues and corporate requirements. Using the Postini developments, Google products will be able to reach the required level of security and provide for market needs.

First of all it will concern such well-known services like Gmail and Google Talk. In the case of Gmail, you can count on reducing the volume of incoming spam. But the most interesting is waiting for Google Talk users. Perhaps, thanks to Postini algorithms, correspondence and conversations using this client will become completely encrypted.
