ASUS at Computex 2011
The era of tablets has come. In Russia, as well as all over the world, prolonged deliveries of the tablet computer ASUS Eee Pad Transformer are waiting. The company said that they managed to cope with the shortage of components, which prevented the increase in supply. As a result, supplies will start to grow in the near future. If in May 100 thousand units of the Eee Pad Transformer were shipped, in June the volume of deliveries will increase to 300 thousand units.

In winter, at CES 2011, ASUS presented 4 tablet devices, which we have already described. This development tablet computers are not completed. ASUS announced the use of an interesting concept based not least on the success of Eee netbooks, which created a new niche in the computer business. ASUS will not try to do the next “killer ipedaololo111”, but will focus on capturing new markets, stimulating the emergence of demand with unusual, expanded functionality.
ASUS Padfone, presented today at the Computex 2011 conference, becomes a prominent representative of this concept. In the 10-inch case, which was usual for the Eee Pad Transformer 10-inch case, a compartment for a 4.3-inch smartphone suddenly appeared. The smartphone and the tablet complement each other: for the phone the tablet is a docking station, a charger, for the tablet a phone is an internet modem and a camera that is activated when the phone is placed in the compartment.
Technical characteristics of the device do not yet reveal. However, the exhibition has just begun, we are still waiting for details. ASUS is optimistic that the gadget will go on sale before the end of this year. It remains to note the interesting business design of the novelty and not the hefty courage of the company, ready for the most unusual experiments.
