Yesterday it became known about another Google deal, this time the company bought a startup
PostRank , whose team was engaged in analyzing social information for any resources, including user interests, requests, gender and age of visitors, and other information that might be of interest to a particular company.
PostRank was founded four years ago, in 2007. At first, the company was based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Now the team will move to San Francisco to join the general Google development team. By the way, last year this company added an interesting feature for its service: Activity Streams, calling this feature “FriendFeed for content”.

The guys from PostRank, as mentioned above, are engaged in the collection and analysis of social information obtained from various resources. Thus, an interesting analysis of data is constantly carried out by categories of visitors from various sites, including Twitter, Digg and others. The average age of visitors, their social status, gender, total number of visitors for each resource and other information are determined. In the future, all this is visualized and displayed in the form of quite understandable graphs.
The manager of the purchased startup is named Ilya Grigorik, and the other day he posted a message on the company blog that the whole team was happy with the deal and would be happy to work as part of Google. According to the developers, in the next few months, important updates for PostRank will be offered, already as a development from Google.
