From August 1, Google stops supporting Firefox 3.5, IE7 and Safari 3

Google is trying to encourage users to upgrade browsers. Announced that from August 1, 2011, Google applications officially stop supporting Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3 and their predecessors. This means that some features of Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs and Google Sites will not be available in these browsers, and in some cases, the application may stop working altogether.

The reason is that the new functionality of web applications (for example, Gmail notifications on the desktop or drag-and-drop files in Google Docs) requires good support for HTML5 , while in older browsers it does not.

Generally, from August 1, Google will switch to such a system: with the release of each new version of each browser, they will automatically stop supporting the third one from the end of this browser version. The rule applies to Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. For Opera, correct operation is not guaranteed .
