The FastTCP technology, developed at California State University of Technology, goes commercial. A startup FastSoft was created, which will produce and sell Aria devices that can increase data transfer speed by 15-20 times compared to a standard TCP connection.
TCP was developed over twenty years ago, at the time of 300 baud modems, when no one could imagine modern data rates. Accordingly, the protocol provided for unnecessarily large latency gaps, which greatly slow down the transfer of large files.
