More grabbers. Good and different

As we promised , we expanded the Mobile OCR Utilities line by launching two programs at once: ABBYY StreetGrabber, which will show you any address from the guidebook in the Maps application, and ABBYY TextGrabber, with which you can edit any printed text directly on your iPhone.

The principle of application operation is the same as that of the first three : photograph the address or a fragment of text that interests you and, after recognition, choose what you need to do with this “material”. Maybe you wrote the letter and there you need to insert text from the journal with some corrections - please, TextGrabber will help you. Or maybe you can not find a store; the address seems to be there, but how far away you are is not clear. Here StreetGrabber is useful. Or maybe you are in a restaurant overseas and a menu in an incomprehensible language - again TextGrabber will come to the rescue - he will help you find the words unfamiliar on the Internet.

In addition to its main functions: searching for the extracted address on maps from StreetGrabber and editing text from TextGrabber, applications allow you to copy the recognized text to the clipboard for use in other applications, send it by mail and SMS, as well as save it in your address book.

In addition, in all the programs of the line, the function of saving history is implemented, which will not allow the necessary information to be lost. We also tried to improve the interface and made it even simpler and more convenient.

Applications work only on iPhone 3GS and 4, because For successful text recognition, a built-in autofocus camera is required.
