IPhoneDevCamp , a conference of developers, web designers and testers, whose goal is to create web applications and optimize websites for the iPhone, took place this weekend in San Francisco.
At this event, about 50 new applications for the iPhone were presented, but the most interesting, in my opinion, was
telekinesis . From the name it immediately becomes clear that the program allows you to control something from a distance. This something is your home Mac!

So, using telekinesis and iPhone, you can:
- Watch videos and listen to audio on your Mac;
- View the contents of the hard drive and open it;
- Manage iTunes;
- Run AppleScript;
- Shoot everything that happens with the camera iSight;
- Capture the screen and control the mouse and keyboard - I think this is the most interesting feature.
In order to take advantage of all these interesting things, you will need:
- Download iPhone Remote (446Kb, after unpacking - 1.2Mb) and install it on your Mac (with installed Mac OS X 10.4);
- Select the desired username / password;
- Open http: // <IP_Your_MASK>: 5011 on your iPhone.
It is worth noting that telekinesis is still in the alpha-version stage, although in 10 minutes that I got acquainted with the program, no bugs were found. You also need to understand that telekinesis is suitable mainly for use at home - as a clever replacement for the Apple Remote - when connected to a home wireless network.
