Second Programming Contest

Dear Colleagues!

We invite everyone to take part in the second programming competition CUBRID it! which we organize this time from the 1st to the 21st of June on the site http://www.cubrid.org/cubrid_it .

The challenge of the competition is to find the most optimal solution for the SQL problem, using either the Java programming language or PHP. As a DBMS, you need to use CUBRID version 8.3.1. Everything! No more conditions!
')
The ready solution can be sent already from the 1st of June on the same page. At 12 am GMT, both the task itself and the form for sending solutions will be available.

In principle, everything is very similar to the well-known ACM programming competition. The only difference is that participants cannot test their tasks in real time to see if they solved the problem correctly. For the correctness of their program, they must answer themselves.

But this is not such a big limitation, since the user can send an unlimited number of solutions written in Java, in PHP, or in a mixed fashion. The goal - to solve the problem, and that the program runs faster and more efficiently than others.

All solutions submitted by one participant will compete with all other solutions provided by other participants. Points will be credited as follows:

The list of winners will be those whose programs receive the most points. The final results of the competition will be announced by the first of July at the office. site, as well as here on Habré.

What will the winners get !?

Oooh! This time is even better than last time [link to the office. project blog]!

1. The main prize is the coveted iPad 2 ! ( Here and here are links to Facebook posts that participants actually receive prizes!)
2-3. The second and third winners will receive one Amazon Kindle e-reader .
4-5. Two powerful 14 megapixel digital cameras Nikon Coolpix S3100 with a fivefold zoom and the ability to record wide format video will go to the fourth and fifth participants in the list of winners.
6-10. Five next members will receive Amazon gift certificates of $ 50 .

In addition to the main prizes for the best solution of the problem, those participants who tweeted most about the competition for this period will also receive prizes, either have written a good blog on this topic or about CUBRID in general. All Twitter links will automatically be credited to the member's name, and links to blogs and other resources can either be indicated by challenge@cubrid.org in the email, or also posted on Twitter by addressing @CUBRID . Thus, the most active participants will receive:

1. iPod Touch 8GB fourth generation
2. Two Amazon Gift Certificates for $ 100
2. Five Amazon Gift Vouchers for $ 50

All material prizes will be sent to the winners immediately after the results are announced, and gift certificates will be sent via email.

If you have any questions, please write in the comments. I will be glad to explain everything in detail before the start of the competition!

Good luck everyone!

If you are not familiar with the CUBRID DBMS, you will probably be interested in reading Habratopic Introducing CUBRID - a DBMS optimized for Web applications , in which I tried to explain in detail the history of CUBRID development, its main features, and the current status of the project.
