Once again about the SMS-confirmation of transactions: with what (and, most importantly, why) it is eaten

In April-May, we participated in several conferences (Reef + Kib, St. Petersburg-RIF, Electronic Commerce ...), and one of the most frequent questions for stand assistants was this: HOW TO DISABLE SMS-CONFIRMATION?
image The question, frankly, is quite old, but why not come back to it if people are interested. So if this topic is relevant to you - read on.

First of all, why do you need SMS confirmation of transactions ? No brainer that it was done not to annoy the most respectable public, but to save it (the public) money. Simply put, this is one of the additional security measures.
The main inconvenience is that in some cases this option is automatically enabled , and you suddenly find out about it when, when trying to transfer money from a keeper, or when trying to pay something via WebMoney Merchant, you are sent an SMS from verification code that you need to enter. In addition, it is important to know that this service - although not always, but paid . The minimum commission for a transaction confirmed by SMS is 0.05 WMZ (1.50 WMR, 0.40 WMU, 150 WMB, 0.04 WME). Why not always paid? Simple arithmetic:
If you transfer 1 WMZ, then you will additionally write off not 0.01, but 0.05 WMZ. Thus, the “overseas” will be the size of the transaction in 6 WMZ, at which the standard WebMoney commission of 0.8% is just 0.05 WMZ. It turns out, SMS confirmation of transactions from 6 WMZ and above - does not cost anything .

Now the main thing: what to do if you don’t like the confirmation procedure / it seems excessive / too expensive. You have two ways: 1) emotional and 2) constructive. In the first case, you write on all the Internet fences inscriptions like "down with paranoia." In the second - after spending a couple of minutes, turn off the SMS confirmation and forget about it.

Chose the second path? Then we take the first and last step . Go to: security.webmoney.ru/asp/transconfirm.asp
We press the “Disable” button opposite the words “SMS-Confirmation”, then we receive a confirmation code on the phone for the last time and enter it. Everything.

ATTENTION! For owners of Classic or Light who have read this far - a small bonus secret. In Classic, starting from version 3.9.4.0, you can disable SMS confirmation for transfers to a specific correspondent after the first transfer to it, which was successfully confirmed via SMS. The same principle works in Keeper Light ... In my opinion, this is a good way to keep SMS confirmations to a minimum, without losing security or disabling the function as a whole.
