The art is actively moving from static forms and constructions to the area of ideas and innovations, where it intersects with physics, mathematics, biology, philosophy and many other sciences. So, on July 24 in the New York Museum of Modern Art will open a unique exhibition
Talk ot Me . It will present a variety of exhibits from around the world - from interfaces to furniture, the development of scientists, designers, artists and students. For many months, the exhibition organizers hunted for the most interesting innovative ideas, traveled around the world in their search, researched and marveled.
This weekend, the organizers of Talk to Me came to Moscow. In the framework of the LINT conference (Life in Technology) in the
Digital October space on Red October, the project was presented. A representative of the Agency for Innovation and Development participated in the event and in the same way - researched and wondered. We will tell about several exhibits of the future exhibition.
Most of all, of course, robots and robotic mechanisms.

For example, such a cute
Robot / People cardboard cardboard with a flag (apparently not to be trampled), he rolls through the streets of New York, constantly stumbles upon people and all sorts of obstacles. The idea of this performance is whether passers-by distract from their affairs and thoughts to help the robot cross the road or direct it to the right path. According to the author of the idea “Robot and People” (Robot / People), Casey Kinzer (Kacie Kinzer), it’s wrong that the city exists only to move from point A to point B. Sometimes it is worth stopping and noticing the little helpless cardboard man underfoot.
An old receiver, sneezing with dust, a removable touch-sensitive disk and a lamp jumping off when trying to get close to it. These are objects invented by the Attenborough design bureau. Designers are trying to instill the habits of animals in ordinary household objects, from which it does not expect reflex reactions. It turns out unexpectedly and very funny.
Another invention from the family of robots is a set of multi-colored Do-It-Yourself cubes from
Modular Robotics . You can assemble your robot of any shape and it will perform simple actions. Some cubes have light, motion, sound and temperature sensors. So the robot can roll on the table, escaping from your hands, react to sounds or hide from the light.

It seems that it was the endless jokes about girls who can not find the phone in their own bag, prompted the inventor Ross Atkin (Ross Atkin) to develop
MessSearch (literally - "search engine for mess"). The object is made in the framework of the project
"Entropy" . This is a hand-held scanner that determines which item is in front of it, and if the item meets the stated search criteria (for example, this is a phone), the owner beeps a sound signal. It remains to make the scanner more miniature and bind to mobile platforms. It turns out the perfect gift for a girl. The main thing - do not lose it in the bag.
The project also has its own sandbox called the Queue. There are going to interesting objects that have not yet hit the main list. For example, AppleTalk is a witty joke by programmer Jürg Lehni (Jürg Lehni) who came up with two Mac Pros facing each other. Using two microphones, as well as software for voice recognition and translating it into text, the two cars endlessly talk with each other, translate the written text into speech and back according to the principle of “spoiled phone”. Sometimes poppies make very poetic mistakes and it's funny to watch them.
