The next version of Windows will be called Windows 8 and will be released in 2012, right? At a software development conference on Monday, Steve Ballmer said exactly that. Up to this point, the company has never officially announced the name of the system.
Microsoft claims that it has not officially announced the exact time of the release of the system, nor the name of the next version of the OS.
')
Ballmer said that "The company is working on a new version of Windows, the system is expected to be released in 2012, Windows 8 can be seen on computers, tablets and other devices ..."
But Microsoft disowns such statements.
The company clarifies that Ballmer, most likely, made a reservation, and in fact, Microsoft in the project development for Windows 7, and not devices on Windows 8.
Despite all this red tape with “officially, unofficially,” most observers expect to see the public beta of Windows 8 this year, and the official release in 2012.
Rumor has it that Steven Sinofsky (Head of Windows and Windows Live) will give a preliminary interview-review on Windows 8 and its innovations next week at the AllThingsD D9 conference, which will be held from May 31 to June 2.
