Today, the 132nd jubilee release of the podcast from Umputun was released . Umputun has been on air for two years. When I started listening to the first releases of his podcast two years ago, even then it was one of the most interesting and regularly published podcasts on the Russian Podcasting site. Umputun also takes an active part in such interesting podcast projects as Radio-T , Theory and Practice of Recording , Yankees after Drunkenness .
He also stood at the origins of the once popular Daily Geek Show .
What does this mysterious word "Umputun" mean? It is not so easy to explain. Turn on the Russian keyboard layout. Now type in Latin letters "EVGENY". As you may have guessed, our hero's name is Eugene.
The last five years, Eugene lives and works in the United States. He holds a senior position in a large corporation and manages a group of programmers. At the same time, he himself does not forget his craft and is actively programming.
Before moving to the United States, Eugene lived for ten years in Israel, where he was also a leader in software development.
Both in Israel and in the USA, the groups led by Eugene were engaged in the development of software for processing exchange data in real time. At the same time, Unix-like software is used on servers and workstations. Systems of such high class and level of complexity require a great return from their developers.
Despite this, Umputun also finds time for his favorite hobby - podcast recordings. He is a great promoter of high quality sound. A lot of time is spent on testing various microphones and mixers. Eugene even dedicated a special podcast to this topic -
Theory and Practice of Recording .
Umputun also participates in the recording of the podcast, which is so beloved in the computer world,
Radio-T . They record this podcast with Bobuk and sometimes invite Alex from the
Dolche Welle podcast live.
Eugene helped his friend and colleague Dima, who lives nearby and works in the same company as a programmer, to organize an interesting podcast called
Yanki after drinking . Zhenya repeatedly participated in this podcast, and also invited Dima to his Podcast from Umputun.
Yevgeny has not lived in Russia for more than fifteen years, and yet he is fluent in Russian. Once there was a case when a famous American university asked for permission to use the “Podcast from Umputuna” as a teaching material for learning the correct Russian language.

In today's anniversary edition, Eugene walked away a bit from traditional stories about family, work, life in America, and devoted much of the story to buying and first impressions about the iPhone.
We wish Umputun success in his podcasting activities for the joy of all of us.
