Next Tuesday, May 24, we will organize in Moscow a seminar entitled “Actual Problems of Computational Linguistics” dedicated to linguistic annotation of texts (corpuses). The event will be held as part of a series of open lectures and seminars ABBYY Open.
Linguistic annotation is today a central theme uniting the interests of theoretical and computer linguists. Body marking is needed both for machine learning tasks of Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems and for obtaining linguistic results proper.
The invited speakers are well-known computer linguistics specialists Eduard Hovy (Eduard Hovy, University of Southern California / Information Sciences Institute) and Diana McCarthy (Lexical Computing Ltd).
