Obsessive curiosity of others who "inadvertently" strive to look into the screen of a phone or tablet may soon become no problem for the owners of apple gadgets. On May 19, Apple published its patent of SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLING THE VIEWING ANGLE OF A DISPLAY , which submitted, by the way, for consideration in November 2009, and which describes the new functionality of LCD screens.

The technical essence is as follows: each optical element of the liquid crystal screen receives a certain control element, with the help of which the light beam emitted by the crystal can be changed so that at a certain angle the image on the device screen will be invisible to others. The technology provides some flexibility - the owner of the gadget with the help of certain controls will be able to change the size of the cone of privacy (Cone of Privacy), increasing or decreasing the angle at which it becomes possible to monitor the screen at once to several people. It is important that this does not mean degradation of the screen resolution (as it was on cheap devices a few years ago), but the creation of a completely high-quality image within a certain solid angle.
