Estonia will build defense against Russian cyber attacks

After consulting with the American president, Estonia decided to take active steps to protect itself from Russian aggression on the Internet. As you know, on May 8-9, 2007, Estonian Internet resources were subjected to a massive DDoS attack , which was carried out including from the IP addresses of the Kremlin administration and some Russian government organizations. The reason for the attack of Russia was the transfer of the Soviet statue in Tallinn from one place to another.

As reported by Reuters , the Estonian government has begun developing a defensive strategy for its network resources, and is also going to initiate the adoption of an international convention against cybercrime.

Estonia is one of the world leaders in internetization, many economic and political processes are vitally dependent on the efficiency of the World Wide Web. There, even parliamentary elections are held via the Internet . That is why the attack of Russian vandals caused concern among the leadership of the country.
