Microsoft introduced new add-ons for .NET, expanding support for multi-core processors
Microsoft has recently intensified work on software that is able to effectively use the capabilities of multi-core processors. Recently, additions to the .NET environment were introduced, which allow you to create programs for working on multi-core platforms. In addition to supporting the existing capabilities of such environments, the corporation, “looking into” the future, also added support for such functions, which are likely to be implemented in chips planned for release this year and next.
According to the company, the new additions are necessary to ensure the normal operation of modern applications that allow you to work with "clouds" and multi-core environments. Already, there is a large amount of software on the market that interacts with cloud-based web services, and more and more of this software will appear in the future.
Two add-ons to .NET released by Mcirosoft developers now are a continuation of the corporation’s work on tools for working applications in multicore environments (for example, APM and EAP). Two new libraries for .NET, called Visual Studio Async CTP and TPL Dataflow (The Task Parallel Library Dataflow). These libraries are integrated into the Visual Studio development environment. Add-ons are already available for previews in .NET and Visual Studio IDE. ')
