Perhaps the most interesting feature of Windows Vista Ultimate is the presence of exclusive “widgets” that are not found in any other version of the new operating system. The Windows Ultimate Extras collection of add-ons was originally designed for users of the Ultimate version, the most expensive edition of Windows Vista. However, user expectations were not met - only four additions are available to date. These include Windows BitLocker Drive Preparation, Secure Online Key Backup, Texas Hold 'Em poker game, and a pack of 16 languages. The first program is used to encrypt the disk and protect data, the second is the first addition. All these programs were released during the first weeks after the debut of Windows Vista in January 2007, reports TG Daily.

At the same time, one of the most anticipated features of Vista Ultimate has not been fully implemented. It's about Dreamscene. This technology allows operating system owners to set MPEG and WMV files as desktop backgrounds. The test version of Dreamscene was released in February of this year, but there was no release of a fully working version. The release dates and the package for an additional 20 languages were delayed.
“We apologize for the fact that the release of exclusive add-ons takes so long,” said Barry Goffe, director of Windows Vista Ultimate, in a statement. He believes that these additions will be available at the end of the summer, adding that extra time is needed to debug them.

Previously, Microsoft reported that the release of Windows Ultimate Extras will happen over time. On the new "gadgets" Mr. Goffey did not mention.
