Kinect virtual fitting room for Topshop

AR Door has developed a fitting room for Topshop to display a new collection of Dress up dresses.

Virtual fitting room combines the two most fashionable technological trends: augmented reality and Microsoft Kinect . The user not only sees himself on the kiosk screen in new clothes, but also controls the program with gesture commands: waving his arms and pressing invisible buttons right in the air.

The program does not require additional markers: the camera built into Kinect recognizes the human body and superimposes three-dimensional models of dresses over it.

The opportunity to see the selected model of the dress from different sides (both front and rear) was implemented for the first time in world practice.

The fitting room was developed in the Processing environment using OpenNI.

Currently, we are working on a basic version of c ++ with the addition of tissue physics for a more realistic display of clothing and its interaction with the user.

The AR kiosk was installed in the flagship store Topshop in Moscow, in the European shopping mall, May 5-8, 2011.
