The company Pioneer Japan announced the release of automotive GPS-navigators AVIC-VH09CS, AVIC-VH09, AVIC-ZH09CS and AVIC-ZH09, which for the first time in the world implemented augmented reality navigation system. A wireless video camera on the windshield captures the video and broadcasts it to the navigator screen, where instructions for the route are overlaid in real time: where and where to turn. The system adequately estimates the distance to other objects, including the cars ahead.
