The latest update of
Google Documents List Data API v. 3.0 added the ability for third-party applications to upload files of any format into Google Account. Previously, this feature was only available to owners of Google Apps for Business accounts.
It seems that the notorious
GDrive has finally arrived, only five years late, allowing it to unwind to various “left” projects like Dropbox.
Thus, you can now make full-fledged applications for backing up files to Google Docs or uploading files to the public access, in the Dropbox style. Every regular user has 1024 MB of disk space for free file storage. Extra space costs from
$ 5 per year for 20 GB .
')
Added the calculation of
checksums for all non-native file formats, including those uploaded earlier.
By the way,
web services appeared earlier, with the help of which you can easily transfer documents from Dropbox to the Google cloud or simply synchronize files. Now these programs will work with all formats.
Unfortunately, the “file system” of
Google Docs FS is not yet compatible with the new API functionality, so you cannot copy any type of file from this interface to the “external disk”.
