The first set in the Computer Science Center (St. Petersburg)

Computer Science Center (St. Petersburg) announces the start of the first set.

The Computer Science Center is a joint initiative of the Academy of Modern Programming , Computer Science Club at POMI RAS and the Yandex Data Analysis School . In the center, anyone can get the knowledge demanded by modern science and the programming market.

The center offers the possibility of two years of training in three areas: Computer Science (modern computer science), Data Mining (data analysis) and Software Engineering (software development). Before entering specialized areas, there is also an opportunity to study at the “basic” preparatory course, which is common to all areas (three-year training).

The preliminary training program in all areas is published on the website of the center. All courses in the center are general, and each student can attend any center courses at his own discretion (but at least three courses must be taken in the semester, some of them are mandatory). You can also count the courses of the Computer Science Club at POMI RAS (10 pairs or more) and the courses of the Yandex Data Analysis School in Moscow (in absentia by video or live broadcast). The training involves not only attending lectures by leading teachers in St. Petersburg and Moscow, but also doing homework and internships.

Admission to the center takes place in two stages: filling out the questionnaire on the site and face-to-face interview. The questionnaire contains questions about the candidate and several tasks. Tasks check basic knowledge of mathematical analysis, algebra, probability theory, and programming. It is assumed that students of the center will be students or graduates of engineering and mathematical specialties. At the same time, there are no strict requirements for candidates for admission (age, education).

Training in the center is free. Classes will be held on the basis of the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum 239 on weekdays evenings (students will need to be given 3-4 days a week in the center).

Presentation
May 20 will be a presentation of the CS center. Anyone can ask any questions to the organizers and sponsors of the center personally.
