Google named the most respected company in the US

Google topped the list of the most respected companies in the US, according to Harris Interactive survey.

Harris Interactive asked more than 30,000 respondents to identify the 60 most prominent companies in the United States and rate them for 20 different qualities.

Technology companies are at the top of the ranking. The first place went to Google, which received a score of 84.05 / 100 on the reputational scale (80.0 and above is considered as “excellent”). Other well-known technology companies in the top were Apple (No. 5), Intel (No. 6), Amazon (No. 8), Sony (No. 14) and Microsoft (No. 16), all of which received ratings above 80.

Insurance conglomerates, banks and oil companies took the lower part of the rating. The largest American insurance company AIG received the worst figure - 47.77. BP - the company responsible for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico - ranked second from the end.

And the world's largest search engine, despite government investigations and allegations of breach of confidentiality, still has the most positive image in the eyes of its millions of users.
