The Associated Press reports that the European Commission sent inquiries to several Hollywood film studios with a view to ascertaining the reasons why a studio prefers a particular high-definition video format, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. The answer to this question will determine whether the official Europe will start an investigation about cartel collusion and unfair competition of media companies.
It is not known yet any details about what kind of "dream factory" fell under the attention of the EC.
