GoogleDocs got a full-fledged application for Android, providing users with a bunch of features that are not available through the browser. The application can be downloaded for free through the Android Market, it boasts a user-friendly interface for
accessing documents and spreadsheets. By the way, the document
editing itself is still carried out through the browser.
What are the buns waiting for you?
The Android app comes with many additional features, such as:
')
Widgets : The main screen of the GoogleDocs widget allows users to navigate to selected documents, create new ones or prepare a photo for upload.
Scan text from a photo : Google Docs can be used for optical character recognition to translate new or existing text photos into text documents. It sounds cool, but the technology does not guarantee adequate recognition for handwriting (due to the nature of the handwriting).
Share with friends : the application can share documents through the contact list.
Unfortunately, using the application offline is not yet available. One user on the Google forums noticed that the application includes up to 20 MB of cache memory, and in “Account and sync” there is an option “Synchronize documents”, but the only thing that can be obtained when working offline is a list of documents, and not documents. Maybe work offline will be available, but not in the near future, since document editing is still carried out through a browser ...
GoogleDocs are now available for Android version 2.1 and higher.
