The latest typewriter factory in the world has stopped working

Yes, the history of typewriters has recently ended, and in fairness it should be noted that these devices have been popular for many years - from 1867 to 2011. In general, it is difficult to immediately recall any device that has been in use for so many years or more (except for the printing press). So, the last factory, which produces typewriters, ceased production of new devices, and only 500 pieces of previously manufactured machines remained in the company's warehouses.

The Godrej and Boyce factory is located in Mumbai, and the mass production of typewriters ceased in 2009, and now the factory closes. Only 20 years ago, the company produced and sold 50,000 typewriters a year, but only 800 units were sold last year. It is understandable - in fact, now, probably, not the most ancient computer, in terms of functionality exceeding a machine hundreds and thousands of times, costs as much as this machine itself.

Now it is fashionable to talk about the "killers" of various devices, so the computer and the accompanying software can be called the "killers" of typewriters. Well, it is even a little sad that the era of typewriters is over - but that’s the progress so that something new appears all the time.

If you have an old typewriter - do not offend it, you know, nobody else in the world does it.
