Google has just acquired GrandCentral, which made the author Mashable come to the conclusion that the number of acquisitions made by the leading search engine has grown. Indeed, the fast-track chart reflects well the growth of acquisitions (of course, there are inaccuracies on the graph due to incomplete information about all acquisitions). The most interesting fact is that Google has acquired more companies in the first 6 months of this year than in the entire previous year. Below is a table with all Google acquisitions made from 2001 to 2007, excluding investments. Scrolling to the bottom of the table you can see that in recent acquisitions were made almost every week. In general, the peak of acquisitions is visible to the naked eye. What does the coming day prepare for us? :)
