Intel confirms that Android 3.0 will appear on x86 tablets

Intel CEO Paul Otellini confirmed that the company is working on porting Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb to devices with x86 processors. Honeycomb is the first system designed specifically for tablets and Intel naturally does not want to give way to competitors with ARM processors.
Google has not yet opened the source code for Android 3.0 for everyone, but selected partners have access and, according to Otellini, Intel is one of these partners.
The exact release date is not known, but Otellini says that he will be “disappointed” if the processors on the Atom for tablets appear no earlier than a year later.
