Opera Startup Awards begins!

Probably, many people remember Opera's university tours, in which employees of the company came to various universities in many cities of Russia, from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg. It was interesting, but I always wanted something more. Well, the time has come - for the first time in the history of Opera Software, we are organizing something more serious for universities than just a presentation of new technologies and software products. If in a nutshell, we decided to give students a chance not only to come up with an interesting idea, but also to work it out in detail, prepare a prototype, and perhaps even start their own project, including a commercial one, with the support of our company.

Together with the Department of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO) and the MTE Master Program (ITMO), we announce a unique competition - Opera Startup Awards for students of St. Petersburg universities. The competition consists of several stages, the first of which has already started on April 15. Also in the framework of the first stage from April 20 to April 23 a series of master classes will be held. At the master classes you will have the opportunity to:
- to discuss the problems and needs of Russian and foreign users with the vice-president of the company Opera Software Johan Borg,
- get effective web development skills from Opera Standards Director Charles McCathieNevile (Charles McCathieNevile),
- Learn from Opera's development manager in Russia and the CIS Ilya Shpankova how to make money using a free browser
- create an idea for the project and find a team
