Now manufacturers, one after another, demonstrate various solutions in the field of flexible display production. It should be noted that from year to year such solutions are becoming more and more interesting, although the progress in this area is not as active as many of us would like. However, now even those companies that do not have much to do with electronic devices have begun to work on creating affordable and practical flexible displays. For example, the company Bridgestone, which is engaged in the production of automobile tires, has developed quite an interesting AeroBee display, in fact, it is a color flexible “electronic paper”.
')
About a year ago, this company announced its QR-LPD (Quick Response Liquid Power Display) production, which, being improved, turned into AeroBee displays. The size of this display is 297 × 420 mm (A3 format), or A4. The 13.1-inch display (this is just A4) was presented at the Finetech Japan exhibition held in Tokyo.
Interestingly, the electronic paper was presented not only separately, but also as part of the tablet. Characteristics of the tablet are also sane - ARM11 processor, WiFi and Bluetooth wireless modules, 4 GB of internal memory, USB 2.0 port. The thickness of the device, thanks to the use of the AeroBee display, is only 13 millimeters. Weight - 730 grams. There is a slot for a memory card. Works display based on Linux.
In general, another interesting device appeared on the market, which could be the first (or second or third?) Step in the era of flexible color displays.
