US students have developed a glance tablet

However, it is not quite usual that the sight-controlled tablet was developed not by venerable scientists, but by students of Brigham Young University from the USA.

A team of students has developed a fairly practical device, a tablet that is completely controlled by the human eye. Such a device can probably be useful for people who have problems with the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, etc. According to the developers, the device is completely controlled by the look, it is not necessary to help with your hands (and with your feet), everything works fine.

The tablet itself is based on Windows 7 and has a built-in look control system. After switching on, the tablet will require a calibration (again with a glance) in order to understand the characteristics of its owner. Any application can be used through such a system, from a card game to Skype. The tablet software places the mouse cursor where you are looking at at the moment, and as a command to click on the object, the system perceives blinking (yes, you will now have to blink carefully).

Similar systems from other manufacturers cost about 14 thousand dollars, but students have achieved a significant reduction in the cost of their tablet - only 1500 dollars. Naturally, not only people with limited abilities can apply this technology, tablets can be used in all areas of medicine / industry, in games and advertising.
