On April 14, the first mini-conference in the beer meetup format took place in Chelyabinsk:
- beer bar (in our case it was a pizzeria)
- 10-20 people (16 developers from 6 companies gathered)
- discussion of technologies
- the first mug of beer (or a teapot of tasty tea) is free
')
At the beginning of the conference, the organizers “delivered” a “plenary” report, where we told what we expect from meetings in this format and what our goals are.
Programmers like to have a glass of beer and discuss the profession trends with friends. We want ... / * it was very important for us to understand what we want:) * We want to give you-us-yet-yourself the opportunity to share experiences, ideas, meet new interesting people.
Why do we all give up?
Goals:
- Say and be heard;
- We are interested in new knowledge and experience;
- We do not pursue the goals of PR, propaganda of any directions or development tools, advertising of alcoholic beverages (if we want, we will pursue;)).
BeerConf is:
- Informal friendly atmosphere;
- Opportunity to meet new people and strengthen existing relationships;
- Communication of developers of various directions and exchange of experience;
- A place where you can talk with your colleagues from other companies, be listened to, get good advice;
- Free, profile and thematic meetings: web, mobile applications, best practices and so on;
- There is only a few meters between you and the speaker and a glass of tea;
- Once a month (and maybe more or less).
Formats of reports of an informal conference:
At our first meeting, we discussed:
- advantages and problems of the opensource approach;
- cross-platform mobile application development;
- issues of modern IT education;
- the problem of juggling in programming;
- effective organization of the development process.
Details and the results of the discussions remained in the heads of the participants :) Yes, and the topics were covered much more - the conversation went almost without pauses, flowing from report to report. What we liked best was the lack of rules.
Not the organizers held this meeting - the participants made it with their thoughts and knowledge. Thank!:)
Information about the next meetings will be found on Twitter -
twitter.com/beerconfAnd on our website -
www.beerconf.ru - as you see, we love the principles of
KISS and
YAGNI . We think whether we want something more from this site - as soon as we decide - we will do it right away.
If you want to hold a similar meeting in your city and suddenly let us know about it - we will be just happy :) You can not report it - the main thing is that you like it.
PS
Some statistics:
- 50% of conference organizers do not drink alcohol
- 60% of conference participants preferred tea to beer
