New anti-piracy legislation passed in New Zealand

New laws on copyright infringement, adopted in New Zealand, no matter how thought as a tool against file sharing. However, in reality, the new laws actually bring file sharing beyond the law. Right holders have now received a tool that allows you very quickly to call copyright violators to account. So, if any particular copyright infringement is detected by a particular user, the right holders send notifications to the Internet provider, which, in turn, warns the user who has violated the law.

In total, the offender has the right to three life warnings, after which the user who violated the law will have to pay a fine of up to 12 thousand US dollars, plus the user is disconnected from the Network for up to six months (probably, this is even worse than the fine - although it prevents the use connect another provider or connect not on their own behalf?). The anti-piracy law of New Zealand takes effect on September 1, so that file-sharing fans still have the opportunity to pump up all sorts of different content “with a stock”.

Many online publications immediately dubbed the new legislation as “the death of file sharing in New Zealand,” although, it should be noted, similar laws were enacted in Germany and France. And so far, it seems that one cannot hear about the hundreds of thousands of users “weaned off” from the Internet who pay millions in fines (it has become fashionable to beat such fines from housewives with disabled people who downloaded a couple of mp3s in the USA).

In general, it is a bit annoying, of course, the fact that anti-piracy legislation is being gradually introduced in different countries, some of the points which are not particularly liked by file-sharing fans. However, the fact that the user is not being dragged into the court immediately, but warned, three times more, makes this law not as effective as you think? What prevents the use of various connections to the Web, or there are proxy servers, or anonymizers, or new file sharing technologies like TOR or magnet links (well, yes, the latter is not such a novelty), if there is absolutely no file sharing ...
