Meet the heir: First look at the Nokia E6 and Symbian Anna
Today, the very first in Russia, we tested one of the new Nokia, presented on April 12. Nokia E6 is a monoblock keyboard, the heir to two very popular models - E72 and E71.
On the one hand, it is very similar to its predecessors, on the other, it is very different. It is a touchscreen phone, while its predecessors were exclusively keyboard players with insensitive screens. ')
Another chip is a screen with a VGA resolution, which is 4 times more than in previous models of the line. But to the delight of QWERTY fans, you can control the phone almost without touching the screen, using only the joystick.
The device uses the updated Symbian ^ 3 "Anna", which Nokia promises to release within a month for all other Symbian ^ 3 smartphones. According to Nokia, the OS received over 50 different improvements, including a browser with an updated interface and improved support for HTML5 (it scores 111 points in the test against 29), an updated text input interface (it is not used in E6 - you can enter text only with QWERTY ), new versions of Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, mail client, calendar, Qt libraries. In general, the OS noticeably increased in speed, compared with what Nokia showed a few months ago. Visual sensations complement, finally, the changed icons and a cute theme.
E6 can be considered the coolest trump card to work - the use of a Broadcom-standard Media Accelerator from Broadcom has significantly improved autonomy. Compared to E72, which lasts 576 hours in standby mode, E6 will live 744 hours (7 more days), that is, 31 days. And this is with the same battery. Accordingly, under load, it will work for about 5-7 days. If the task is to watch the video in 720p, which the device supports - you can do this for almost 10 hours in a row.
Naturally, fans of QWERTY are interested in how convenient it is - there are no devices with a Russian layout for the test yet, but judging by the English, it is very good. The keys are clearly recognized by the fingers, easily pressed, the keyboard feels even better than in the E72. The block of keys under the screen is also commendable - the buttons are not touch-sensitive, they are pressed lightly and clearly, it is almost impossible to press two buttons at once. The joystick is steel and not painted - it does not peel off and is not wrapped around, it is pressed easily, but there is no touchpad in it, and rightly so, with a touchscreen, it would only interfere.
Judging by those samples. that were shown today, the E6 is one of the most successful and balanced devices that the company has produced recently.
