The American branch of BMW announced that the company will become the first manufacturer to ensure full compatibility of its cars with the Apple iPhone mobile phone, which sales started last weekend. Already, the iPhone can be used in models 3 and 5 of the series, released since March 2007, and in the X5 SUV, produced since April. In September, sales of the BMW 6 Series will begin in the United States, which also supports the new phone, and then the integration with the iPhone will spread to other models of the company.

In order for the on-board computer system to be fully compatible with the phone, BMW Assist and Bluetooth wireless technology must be installed in the car. And in the event that the car is equipped with a USB adapter, it is also possible to listen to music through a standard car radio interface.
