Today, April 13, there was a release of Firefox 6 alpha 1, the development of which will end on August 18, 2011.

Together with the same event there was a rejection of the name of “night assemblies” codenamed Minefield (English, a
minefield that symbolizes) - now they are simply called Nightly and, as before, are updated every evening MSC.

Mozilla splits Firefox versions into four channels, the Mercurial repositories. The most fresh one will take place in mozilla-central (Nightly channel), then innovations whose stability will be rated as satisfactory will be transferred to firefox-aurora (Aurora channel), then - to firefox-beta (Beta channel), and only then - to the release branch (Release channel).
