Go!

I have one podcast ... but it’s not really about him. Once the thought came to me to make an introduction to one of the releases of a rocket launch. I am terribly fond of how prelaunch training sounds, these incomprehensible teams, just sneaks through. Resolved - done.

Option without music and a description of the preparation inside.

First, I watched a few videos of real launches, made a script for the video. It turned out that it would take 5-7 votes / person. I wrote to friends-acquaintances, asked to read the text. Those who managed to record it, it’s good that later the sound had to be “spoiled” even more, so the worse the better.

This is how the script (png) looked like.

I sent out requests a week before the deadline, in the evenings I was processing the results: someone was late, someone just disappeared, had to change roles on the fly, look for replacements ... As a result, this was the project that became the introduction to the podcast. Screenshot audacity with the project:

To get voices similar to those that sound on the court, they are purposely recompressed, artificially clamped with an equalizer. Part of the noise recorded by the microphone, part synthesized. Both those and others also are processed beyond recognition by any equalizers. Clearly a lot of echo. Unfortunately, most of the podcast listeners simply did not understand what was going on and decided that it was a recording of a real launch just diluted with a pair of my remarks.

It was a year ago, on the 49th anniversary of K. One of the listeners liked this reconstruction so much that he wrote music to it, which sounds in the video. This year, new ideas did not come down, and I didn’t really want to participate in this pretentious bustle about the 50th anniversary. Therefore, we just updated the video, alvg reduced it again by retaining the canvas, adding the Doppler effect and distortion to the sound of the rocket, it became much more natural.

I killed a lot of time looking for photos and mounting the video, I hope someone will like it a little bit, the main thing, of course, is the sound. I mounted the video in debugmode wax 2.0 , it was not the most convenient and not the most stable thing.

Option without music, in a sense, it sounds even more powerful:

By the way, one of the recording participants is the author of the podcast "the art of programming" - golodnyj .
