Chrome will appear malware detection system

Chrome, Google's browser, is popular with not only minimal design, speed and other “buns”, but also the gradual fouling of the browser with the functionality that allows you to make work on the Web more secure. So, wide acceptance of users received technology Sandbox. Recently, the developers reported on the commissioning of a simple protection system against downloading malicious software.

The concept is quite simple, and is intended more for a regular user, not for an expert in network security or "advanced" users. The fact is that the number of any malicious resources that offer download Trojans and other software of this kind under the guise of antiviruses or registry cleaners is increasing every day. Despite some attempts to deal with such sites, so far neither the government bodies of different countries, nor the IT companies succeed.

Google went a simple way - a system was added to Google Chrome that checks the URL of the site from which such a file is downloaded when the executable file is loaded. If a match is found for the Google Safe Browsing database (constantly updated), the user is warned that this file may contain malicious code. Safe Browsing API has been developed over the last few years, so the base of malicious sites is really extensive.

Such a security system only warns, but does not block the file. If the user decides to download a similar program to his PC, the browser will not interfere with it. This update will soon be added to the developer builds of Google Chrome and Chromium. Maybe the system has already been added, since the message from Google appeared as early as April 5th.
