Skype 2.2 beta for Linux

Today, Skype has released a minor update of its Linux version of the application , codenamed Access Granted. The updated version adds a Skype Access function that allows you to connect to more than 200,000 paid WiFi hotspots around the world, using funds on your Skype Credit account. Also, the quality and reliability of audio and video transmission are improved, you can receive an incoming call while talking to another user. both answer a new call by hanging the first one in the standby mode (Hold), and combine them into an audio conference. In addition, a number of errors and problems in the program, identified by users:

• Difficulties with PulseAudio for Ubuntu users
• Graphics problems for users of the standard Oxygen style on KDE
• and others (see Release Notes ).

I do not think that it is necessary to remind here that Linux users often complained about the slow development of the Skype version for this family of operating systems (including here on Habré). This release is, of course, the nature of the next update, and is not a radically new version, but I hope it will still help convince Linux users that they have not forgotten about Skype.
