American Film Association sues online video rental

The American Film Association has sued the creators of the online video rental Zediva

Zediva service tried to avoid having to pay royalties due to the fact that it was positioned as a video rental. The user on the site rents a DVD with a film and a DVD player, which is located in the company's office. For all this pleasure, they ask for only $ 1.99, which is clearly cheaper than buying a licensed DVD, and most importantly, it’s not necessary to go to the store.

Now, in court, copyright advocates have to prove that the service is actually a streaming video provider, such as Netflix . If the prosecution manages to win the trial, the service will be closed, and the creators will be forced to pay 150 thousand dollars for each film.
