Boodler Sound Landscape Generator

On Habré, Nature Sounds has already been discussed - a flash mixer where you can generate for yourself the optimal combination of nature sounds. Choose from one to four audio streams, for each indicate the volume and distribution of the channels, as well as the pattern of manifestation.

If you have picked up an unusually successful combination, you can save it as a unique URL or as a .wav file. But this service has one major drawback - it requires Flash.

At the same time, all 32 samples are individually laid out here , so you can download them and make your own similar application with the same functionality, but without a flash. Surprisingly, I couldn’t find a single HTML sound generator on the Internet.

How to do it? Apparently, the most suitable tool would be the open source generator of sound landscapes Boodler . It is written in Python, and you can feed it to our high-quality samples to build a simple and convenient web service in the style of Nature Sounds. It seems no one has done this yet.

Interestingly, a number of scientific studies argue that the sounds of nature affect human well-being. For example, the sound of rain supposedly has a calming effect, and the sound of a thunderstorm is supposedly able to charge with energy. Experience confirms that some sounds are suitable for productive work, while others can be set to appease a noisy audience. So this generator can have real practical value. In any case, such a web service would be very useful.
