The FBI asks for help in deciphering a 1999 message

The FBI appealed to the civilian cryptanalyst community for help in deciphering the death message, which was found on June 30, 1999 in the pockets of the victim of crime Ricky McCormick from St. Louis.

The FBI reports that "despite the careful work of the cryptanalysis department (CRRU) and the American Cryptogram Association, the significance of these two encrypted notes remains a mystery."

Two notes contain more than 30 lines of letters, numbers, brackets and a dash. According to relatives of McCormick, he made such notes from childhood, but no one in the family could ever decipher them. According to investigators, the notes were written three days before the murder.
