Arab support problems. Where is more dramatic, in a Nokia ad or on a female body?

image Somewhere in winter and autumn I came across this funny (and for some people - sad) story. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an invite to share.

Nokia has ordered ads in Arabic, and the designers have given out inadequate text. About how it happens in Windows when language support is turned off with right-to-left writing. And this advertisement has been spinning for several months and no one even made much noise, as I understood.

In addition to the fact that the obligatory joining of letters into a ligature has not been observed, they are also written from left to right (in the reverse order, both the words themselves and the letters). There are no obligatory connections in Russian, but there is a division into upper and lower case letters. Therefore, this is how an analogue of this ad would look in Russian:
')
AIKOn NOFILET. ESCHUDUDUB TILEDERPO IGOMOP

Somehow it does not look like a Russian yes? In fact, it says:

“Help determine the future. Nokia Phone

And in the original it should be so (compare with the picture):

ساعد على تحديد المستقبل

But this, I think still half the trouble. Yes, a lot of money probably spent on this event. And for sure, the reputation suffered. After all, it is indecent to serious people to post such ochepyatki. But exploring the problem of Arabic tie on a computer, I recently ran into an even more tragic case. A similar mistake pinned a girl on the body!

image There should have been

ينما تذهب تذهب مع كل قلبك

"Wherever you go, you go with all your heart."

Imagine if you had something like this:

"Metsdres Miovs Mesv Oshedi, Leshop En yy Yyd Aduk"

It would probably be unpleasant ...

PS

Some kind of mysticism, but after a couple of days, as I came across a picture with the wrong tattoo, a girl turned to me:
“I want to make a tattoo in Arabic, could you translate the meaning of the phrase:“ always stay calm ”-“ always stay calm ”or, if it is not too difficult:“ whatever always stay calm ”.

For some reason I immediately thought that the girl from the previous picture requested to translate into Arabic just the same thing. He brought her this example and tried to dissuade from tattoos. It seems to work out. Thanked for your attention and said that she changed her mind.
