Many are now writing about the fact that Odnoklassniki, as a social network, greatly advanced in the service part. It really is. Recently, there have been many innovations that, like, put Odnoklassniki on a par with Facebook in Russia and VKontakte. The most significant among them are the WEB-VoIP telephony service, video hosting and, of course, the Odnoklassniki API. About the last "creation" and will be discussed in this article ..

PostOK, as a service aimed at cooperation with the maximum number of social projects, tried several times to establish links with this, the second largest social network in the Russian Federation. Usually it was not productive, not constructive, and in general, the experience of communicating with classmates seemed negative to us.

The situation changed when Odnoklassniki made the release of their API for third-party developers, and we immediately began to implement the long-awaited application for publishing photos to this social network. I will say right away - the ideas embodied in the Odnoklassniki API are correct, the convenience of developing services promised to be on top, almost like on Facebook, but ... as often happens, everything rested on rather raw documentation and far from ideal implementation.
With grief in half, with the help of technical support for the social network (for which they could have been thanked), we added the application. It was moderated, approved by the administration and should have already appeared, but ... did not happen. On a working environment, when trying to publish a photo, the classmates' API returned us one and the same error. A message similar to “The transmitted parameter must be„ 1 “, and you send„ 1 “for a month already. Technical support soon ceased to answer us, letters to responsible developers also remain unanswered.
In conclusion of the whole post, I want to warn social network application developers against investing resources in writing something for the current version of the Odnoklassniki API. Despite a fairly strong PR campaign, great ideas and, seemingly, user-friendly interface - its current implementation and quality of support processes are so far from ideal and even from closest competitors that they can easily turn your activities into time and money.
