European Commission servers have been attacked by hackers
Today, according to the Russian BBC service, the servers of the European Commission in Brussels have undergone a powerful hacker attack. It happened on the eve of the meeting on the military conflict in Libya.
According to a source in the European Commission: "We often encounter attempts to break into our electronic systems, but this attack is classified as large." ')
At the moment, the servers have been restored, and the European Commission is analyzing and assessing the damage caused by hackers. To ensure the safety of confidential data, access to the internal network and mailboxes of employees of the European Commission is limited.
So far no official representations have been reported, but it is reported that it was carried out according to a scheme similar to the recent hacker attack on the French Finance Ministry. Penetration of attackers to the servers of the Ministry of Finance began in December 2010 and lasted until the beginning of March 2011. During this time, hackers managed to steal more than 150 documents of national importance.
