The time a visitor spends on the site

Recently, I have a need to find out how much time visitors spend on the site.
Neither Google.Analytics, nor Li.ru, nor Yandex.Metrica can cope with this task correctly.
Yes, they all have a “Time on the Site” section, but they only count the time between page views. Do you understand what the salt is?
That is, in the following situations, time tracking will be extremely inaccurate:
- the visitor got home, read the information for 10 minutes and left
- the visitor quickly ran through the site, got to the right page, sat there for 10 minutes and left

Therefore, this tool in the statistics of the above services misleads us.

A thorough search for alternatives did not lead to anything, until I realized that the problem could be solved by the WebVisor system. A system that takes into account the movement of the cursor on your site.

I spent a whole minute looking for a registration button from them, I did not find it.
Aloud surprised: "That's exactly usability specialists!"
It turns out the service is closed.

Small offtop:
3 months ago Yandex bought the WebVisor service. Yandex.Metrica has a click map tool, it is similar to WebVisor, but counts only clicks. I love Yandex, but bad management has been unable to solve integration problems for three months already.
WebVisor users cannot extend services.
Registration is not even available free rate.

Next, I learned that WebVisor is nothing more than an analogue of the popular Western service ClickTale.

I registered on ClickTale , selected a trial rate and placed a code on the site.
It should be noted that my site is a chat. Chat without registration and all with one page.
Therefore, the information from the aforementioned statistics services was simply useless.

Thanks to ClickTale, I learned that my bounce rate is actually less than 5%,
and 30% of visitors spend on the site for more than 25 minutes.

Their rates are reasonable - $ 99 for 20,000 registered visitors per month from three URLs.

But, in general, there are no optimal ready-made solutions. Reason to think for JS and Flash-developers.

PS Habrayuzer lesa80 offered the original solution to the problem:

Perfect option:
1. Every minute a window pops up with a question: are you still there?
2. There is a corresponding accounting of time.
3. The user no longer returns to this site.
4. The problem of time accounting is solved: no user - no problem (:
