How to come up with a domain name for the site - a creative approach

Instead of the preface. The method given here does not claim to be discovered and may seem rather controversial. Therefore, I accept any criticism and fresh constructive thoughts in the comments.

I, like any webmaster who has more than one site, have always been concerned with the problem of choosing a sonorous and interesting domain name. How to come up with a good name for the site, so that it is as short as possible, reflects the orientation of the site, is easy to remember? These are the difficulties that any webmaster faces. I came up with my first domain quickly - I just picked up my own nickname in the .RU zone and the house is ready, but the second immediately started having problems. Those domains for which I had enough imagination, were either already occupied by the sites, or sold at fabulous prices. There was only one way out: to come up with a non-standard approach to the generation of a domain name, which I will tell you about in this article.

In Runet, the most common domain zones such as .RU, .SU, .ORG, .NET, .BIZ, .INFO, .COM, .NAME and some others (Cyrillic domains do not count). It's no secret that the .NET domain zone is often used as a “no” particle in domain names: zaycev.net, fishki.net, anekdotov.net and others. And what if other zones are adapted as particles or parts of a word?

As I said above, I want to offer a “industrial” way of choosing an interesting, and most importantly, memorable domain name. For this we need the “Reverse Dictionary of the Russian Language”. This dictionary is not built like ordinary dictionaries, where the first word begins with “A” and the last word begins with “I”. In the reverse dictionary, the opposite is true: the first word ends with “A”, the last word ends with “I.”

There are dictionaries on the Internet that contain about 99,000 words, but I advise you to find a more detailed dictionary, which may consist of more than 200,000 words, preferably in paper form.

Now we are looking for words ending in “ru”:

in the evening
fit
Whoa
in the morning
kangaroo
foolishly

Guess what I'm getting at? If the domains “sdu.ru” or “vpo.ru” are not yet occupied, then rather run to your registrar!

Then everything will be even more interesting. In the back dictionary of 99.000 words there are about 80 words that end in “com”: in the morning, in the evening, etc. Let's try to liberate your mind and turn on the fantasy to its fullest:

bodryach.com - hearty, boys. Website for the morning journalistic transfer;
kulach.com - cam. The official site of the Klitschko brothers;
golya.com - golyakom. Common expression that is not characteristic of literary speech © Microsoft Word;
sinya.com - bruised. Site beauty salons.

Go ahead. Find all nouns ending in "p": ax, carpet, monitor, designer, merchandiser, manager, etc. Now we have at our disposal such wonderful domains as: topo.ru, kov.ru, monito.ru, disaine.ru, merchendaise.ru, menedge.ru.

We drive to other domain zones. .US reads like “us” or “mustache,” there are about 150 such words in the reverse dictionary. If you turn on the brain, you can generate the following domain names: izdeva.us, izviva.us, zakoleba.us, etc. There are about 7400 such words (verbs ending in “tsya”)! And you say everything is busy.

There are still such extravagant options with the domain zone .UA: ampl.ua (role), burj.ua (bourgeois), padetr.ua (pas-de-trois). Here, however, not everything is so smooth. Under Ukrainian law, a domain name in the .UA zone can only be issued to the owner of a registered trademark.

Try to substitute such syllables as “Zae”, “Ooje”, “Kanna” and some other syllables to the domain zone .BIZ.

Below I give a short list of interesting domains lost to the RuNet, I hope you will be able to replenish your observations:

dermo.com - Welcome to Dermo

As you can see, the options come up with a good domain name mass, the main thing is to connect the head in time. Therefore, I leave you alone with my thoughts and take my leave until the next time.

PS In this article, I deliberately did not mention the domain zone. RF and Cyrillic domains. I do not want to become the initiator of another meaningless holivar. Time will put everything in its place.
