Android 2.x is already used on 92% of Android devices
Google has published another report on the use of different versions of the Android platform.
According to data collected from visits to the Android Market in the first half of March, Eclair (2.1), Froyo (2.2) and Gingerbread (2.3.x) are already used by 92% of the total number of Android devices.
Honeycomb tablets make up only 0.2% of the market. Probably most of this category is occupied by Motorola Xoom. The increase in the share of Android 2.x has led to the fact that Android 1.5 is now only used by 3% of all Android devices, and Android 1.6 - by 4.8%. ')
Some operators have pledged to release Gingerbread for devices of their networks, but, protecting the interests of manufacturers, they are waiting for new devices to appear at the end of this quarter, closer to April. Also in the coming months, is preparing to release a variety of tablets on Honeycomb, which means that we can expect an increase in the number of devices on Android 3.0.
