Updated Readability

The popular readability bookmarklet has been updated, which allows you to read any site without advertising garbage and virtually no formatting (the latter, on some sites, kills any desire to read something). Read more about it here . Now, in addition to the basic functionality, the following features have been added:

1. Background change
2. Choose font size
3. Select the width of the sheet
4. Hiding / displaying images in the text
5. Conversion of links in the text as a footnote (at the end of the text)
6. Sharing text on Twitter and Facebook, as well as sending to soap for someone
7. Built-in shortcut text links
8. Print button
')
All the functionality is “webdvanol”, that is, all changes are visible immediately, without reloading the page. Since all the functionality in JavaScript is located on a remote server, you do not need to perform any actions in order to use the updated version. Just click on the Readability tab and you will see new chips.

For premium accounts (costing $ 5), there is the option of deferred reading, support for mobile platforms and collaboration, in which you will be deducted money for reading your content using Readability. As reported on the site, contributions to authors amount to 70% of the income, the remaining 30% go to improving the service. On off. The site has a detailed video telling about new features.

Undoubtedly, the authors did a great job compared to the first version and, perhaps, the update would not have happened so quickly if it were not for Steve Jobs, who deleted the Readalibity application from the App Store (apparently due to paid subscriptions, from which Apple didn’t dripped). It looks like this prompted the developers to speed up the development and intensify the attack, including on the mobile market (the update occurred two weeks after the exclusion from the App Store).

PS Advise, maybe there is a more suitable blog?
