Startup Sauna comes to Russia

Startup Sauna is a new program for entrepreneurs, starting with a series of events in different cities of Northern Europe, the Baltic States and now Russia. These Startup Sauna Warm-ups are competitive selections of the best teams that will be invited to an intensive educational program at the Aalto Venture Garage in Helsinki.

The main objective of this traveling event is to find the best teams and good ideas in different parts of the region and enable them to work with the best coaches and mentors from Finland and Northern Europe. During the Startup Sauna program, selected teams will work harder to develop their business ideas, solutions and market entry strategies to be ready to start a real business. Teams who graduate from the program will be ready for initial investment and pilot clients.

Here are the cities where the sauna stops:
March 16 - Turku
March 24 - Oulu
March 25 - Tampere
April 4 - Petersburg
April 6 - Moscow
April 8 - Stockholm
April 12 - Helsinki
April 15 - Riga

The program itself will run from May 2 to June 17 in Helsinki. Selected teams will receive 1000 euros for expenses during participation in the program. Startup Sauna is designed to help start-ups on the pre-seed stage get investment and support from the best serial entrepreneurs and investors. Aalto Venture Garage has excellent connections in Silicon Valley - the founder of the garage Kristo Ovaska (Kristo Ovaska) now lives in the states to help visiting teams. The best Startup Sauna teams go to the valley for 3-6 months - there the garage works closely with Stanford University.
