Despite various difficulties, the Skalaxi cloud platform continues to evolve. I want to tell you what our team has been doing since the beginning of the year, in addition to solving unpleasant problems.

Yesterday we launched a new site , which we hope has become clearer and friendlier to visitors - now you can choose exactly the product that you need, right on the main page, immediately looking at all of its characteristics.

Our main news for today is support in the cloud of Windows virtual machines. Completed two-month testing and we want to say a big thank you to all users who have become beta testers and helped test the new functionality. Now cloudy Windows is available to everyone. On our site you can create a virtual server based on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 in one minute. Three editions are available: Web Server, Standard and Enterprise Edition. Separately, I would like to mention pricing and licensing. The cost of the slot does not depend on the OS used and still amounts to 65 kopecks per hour or 468 rubles per month. However, in the case of a Windows machine, a license fee is additionally paid, which is 30, 40 or 50 kopecks per slot per hour, depending on the edition. Money for a license is written off only if the machine is turned on.
Activation occurs automatically if there is a real IP address on the machine and does not require any action from you. You can use vnc, rdp or web console to remotely connect and control machines; details are described in our documentation .

We consider the second important novelty to be the cloning of virtual machines . With one click you can make a complete copy of the virtual server and all its disks. You can use this feature for backup. I remind you that payment occurs only for enabled servers.

Of the less significant but most desirable changes, we can mention the dynamic management of IP addresses. Now you can add, delete and change real IP addresses without stopping the machines. Also, the DNS zone control panel now supports Cyrillic domains.

It is important that not only our product develops, but also our infrastructure services and the low-level foundation of our entire cloud. First of all, we are now in the process of commissioning another batch of equipment, now two six-core Intel 56th series processors are installed in our servers. Secondly, we have updated the software stack - now we use Xen 4, which will allow us to add a lot of functionality that you are asking for.
